  • i have a question, i took my tranny out because it got water sucked into it from the radiator/transcooler and i didn't take the torque converter off and i don't know if has water in it,should i buy a new one of should i just do what you are doing with your torque convert "flush it "

  • I'd probably redo the draining again to include the converter also. I'm assuming you had coolant and not straight water in the system. Would be cheaper than a new converter to try. Anyone else? Check with autoparts store also for guidance also. You did 5 to 6 qts and I'm thinking one more full transfusion will do it. Even if you use conventional tranny fluid as it's cheaper. Don't forget another filter kit. May be overkill but it's better than calling AAA.

  • Well it's just a general what ya need to do kind of video. I do have an overdrive button on the side of the shifter and a light in the dash (O/D off). Figured it had overdrive at that point. Nice thing is that the "chatter" is gone from the tranny. Nice and smooth. No slip and it's solid shifting and acceleration. The socket sizes I mentioned work for my 3.8 and tranny on the '98 pony. Just be really careful on the converter bolt. Made me nervous worrying about stripping. Use good tools.
