  • I think the painting '' The girl with the pearl earring '' is the most beautiful work of art in the world, more beautiful than the Mona Lisa. The look in the eyes of the girl goes through me like a shaft...so moving, so enigmatic . I have yet to see the film. I expect it will be a story of heart-rending love !

  • Read the book ... Now watching the Movie :D

  • @ina23blumen I think her performance in Match Point was alright, average but in this movie she is mesmerizing, you can't really take your eyes of her. Her acting her is so settle but still she shows are the right emotions. I understand that she gets the BIG BUCKS from movies like Iron Man and The Spirit.

I actually prefer her performances in Vicky Christina over the one in Match Point. I hope she will go back to doing movies like this one, she really is a wonderful actress.

  • @govno78 guess you haven´t seen Matchpoint then

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone I think that was mostly the point here: the way an artic can snatch those little pieces of boring everyday life and make them exceptional, something beautiful and luminous.

  • its stupid.. we are recently have a loooot of trouble concerning the islamic way of dressing, especially the way women cover their head and hair

  • gibt es das auch auf deutsch ?

  • too bad that this story isn't real. yet i still like seeing a character like griet.

  • @HickeryHickery Good point. The art Vermeer created is, for the most part, exceptional, however, I find some measure of this film terribly depressing by the slow repetition of daily existence, and the horrendous amount of work required to maintain the most fundamental considerations. For the most part, and for most people, a wretched existence at that time.

  • This movie and Lost in Translation are the only two good roles Scarlet has done after this one she went all commercial and have really sucked in many of the movies that she has appeared in. I wish she would make more movies like this, with the right script she can do wonders. Amazing movie, small masterpiece.

  • @faffibo same lol
