International conference: "Nato: new strategic concept, new challenges in the XXI century"

The main purpose of the International Conference on "Nato: new strategic concept, new challenges in the XXI century" is to discuss the options of a new NATO Strategic Concept, which after years of long discussions, will replace the Strategic Concept of 1999 and provide the Alliance with up to date strategic guidance.

Since the NATO summit will be held in Lisbon, next November, it is important to inform the Portuguese audiences of the importance, objectives and challenges of the alliance. Portugal is a founding member of the alliance but it is always important to stress how NATO will respond to the threats of the XXI century such as terrorism, climate changes, energy security and so on.
