I've noticed that in every debate these guys do there is always one mental-case in the audience.

To be fair to the first guy, he was clearly nervous and a little derailed with Christopher's rather aggressive 'stand up!' demand. The second guy was a berk: 'what I'm saying is very clear cut...'. No it isn't. The last two guys were simply on some incredible drugs.

Note to self: The Hitch certainly doesn't suffer fools.

  • As Hitchens stated it, the first guy was not incoherent, and was well stated. He said he lived under theocratic dictatorship as a child, and the debate was pointless, as a simple observation of the misery the theocracy happily hoists upon the people under it's rule, is so obvious. He hates theocracy, and was a witness to it's tyranny in his own life. How is that incoherent?

  • @sickofgod69 There is a caveat in the intro text about that clip.

  • @benjamin308 Not to make a big deal of such a trivial thing but, if he was coherent and made a good point, why is he on the video? (I have read the "caveat", by the way)

  • @chipbuggerheart I thought it was mildly interesting/amusing and three clips wasn't quite enough. Also, as a 'question' it is certainly incoherent (the floor was opened for questions not statements).

  • I wrote a funny comment but then worried about my grammar and didn't post it. Such is life.

  • @LuckyBugger101 I'm sure it'll be fine. Go for it.

  • @HelloImMrMarr Unless you fully didn't understand the statement, he, actually has a good point...

  • There's a fine line between philosophising and talking out of your anus.

  • How high is up ?

  • The last one to Christopher was hilarious.... "a pattern of 1010... and ending in 1" hahaha

  • I've read the "holy" books. There is no god.

  • @benjamin308 Some questions are implicit ... he just omitted the "Do you agree?". Moderators usually (and annoyingly) demand clear-cut questions from the audience, but a statement is often more interesting and gives more room for debate - like here: watch?v=P8gTswFbKo0

Anyway, as I said, it doesn't matter. Nice video. Hitchens was certainly great dealing with hecklers and incoherent people. There are many instances of him saying "Next!" ... always funny. Dawkings is less cheeky.

  • Hilarious.
