this old school stuff is way better than that stupid 80's crap!!!!

This was the REAL G.I. Joe! I had this set. The idol had jewels in it, a red, a green, a blue, and a clear one. If they were to scale, they would have been the size of a brick in Joes hands! No wonder he was willing to risk it all to get them!

The British version was Action man!

I think the idol opened up and had jewels in it. I had it but really can't remember. That chopper was soooo cool. I had blisters on my thumb from pressing the rotor button. Worth alot today I'll bet.

@seka1986 The 80's joes could indeed hold things... their awesome weapons. Also they had "Swivel Arm Battle Grip" rather than the lame hippy stoner "kung fu grip" of the 70s.
Other cool things 80s joes had: Code names, back stories, a vast array of vehicles, an aircraft carrier, and an enemy terrorist orgainization to do battle with... The limp wristed politically correct 70s joes just rescued stupid idols or other lame "adventures." Dirty hippies, I tell ya :)

@c0deMunkey The 70's joes weren't 4 inch midgets and they had kung fu grip. The 80's joe's couldn't even hold anything.
-
SWEET! I didn't know they had sets like vehicles!
-
Being a kid in the 70's was great ...We used our imaginations !!
-
I had this when I was a kid. Now its going for about 300 bucks!

@c0deMunkey By the way, not to rub it in, but if you'll read all the other comments posted here, you'll notice that practically everyone else agrees with me. Adventure Team Joes are the REAL G.I. Joes and those eighties figures suck major ass. Sorry.
Had it! Joe sucks today!

I remember that commercial, plus I had that chopper which I played with till I busted it and some other G.I. Joe toys,
Great stuff unlike those dinky 1980s toys.
