WHAT?! Xbox 720 Graphics Similar to Wii U?

In what may be the most significant 8th generation development since E3 2011, sources from Fudzilla, SemiAccurate, and IGN, citing informants alleged to be familiar with the so called "Xbox 720" are reporting that Microsoft's new console "will yield 20% greater performance than Nintendo's Wii U."

If credible, this report flies in the face of the long running and widely accepted assumptions that Microsoft and Sony's 8th generation home consoles would completely outclass Wii U in terms of raw graphics processing horsepower, to the same extent that the 7th generation HD consoles outclassed the Wii's low performance visuals.

The surprises keep pouring in as E3 2012 and a huge burst of noise approaches.

@CrusaderOfXbox360 I never said anything negative about the Xbox 720's graphics in this video, so Im not sure why you see the need to 'defend' them.

All I did was comment on what I EXPLICITLY explained to be CONJECTURE about the POSSIBLE comparison between the 720 and Wii U's GPU.

If you think the only way for Xbox 720's graphics to be awesome is for Wii U's graphics to be lightyears behind, I think you may need some thicker skin and stronger faith in your system of choice.

@PLKicen I never said anything in this video or any other video about the Wii or Wii U having better graphics than ANY Xbox system, so Im not sure why youve found the need to post several responses to my videos in all caps refuting things I never said. I said nothing other than that trends and reports point to console manufacturers building new systems while placing less emphasis on simply maxing out graphics yield. If you think you need to "defend' Xbox against that IDK what to say.

@gguru1 You might want to make a new Video, because if the 720 is sticking to his same chip, the Wii U shall have a better and higher proficiency. Erase the 20% better, the Wii just reclaimed that and is showing a possible 7 times more powerful than 360 and 5 times more powerful than the PS3.

@Wilzehagawa I'm not interested in nitpicking over whether I can support the idea that Wii U is MORE POWERFUL than the 720, as long as the systems are comparable in what we can expect from the horsepower and visuals, the point of this video is rock solid IMO.

If Wii U can be solidly proved to be of superior performance to the Xbox 720, that's something for another day, and IMO I'm not interested in building an argument for that at the moment.

If the new Xbox is really 20% more powerful than the Wii U, then it's 80% more powerful than the PS3 instead of 70%. (PS3 = 100, Wii U = 150, Xbox720 = 150*1.2 = 180)

Other than that, your video's rock solid and I completely agree. The difference isn't as extreme as many people believed it would be.

as a PC gamer a 20% dif could all varey well mean 2x antialiasing instead of 4 and no anisotropic filtering instead of 2-8, But the thing is with the "offical" hardware leak of xbox 720, that will be using a current $70.oo graphix card that will be worth about $30.00 when it launches .. lol no thank you xbox. So Id like to jump over to Sony next gen if the ps4 will be backwords compatible an pick up some old ps3 exxclusive titles :) Peace!
