Spirit has deeply discounted airfare. Politicians have no clue - if they impose their unfounded will on Spirit, they will simply raise rates for everyone who boards a plane rather than charging people for what they get. It should be a cafeteria rate structure. If I want a better seat, more leg room, a meal, even to use the bathroom - I should pay and others should not have to subsidize. I don't think it would work out very well from a PR standpoint though. But thats SPIRITs' choice Schumer!

@jbjumpback Im pretty sure they don't need the money, It's just another way to bring in MORE money.  BTW I have flown NK plenty of times and I've never been late and the planes are pretty clean to me. It's just I guess but id rather pay 100 dollars to Lima and take a tylenol PM (See ya when I get there) than 800 with AA from MIA and get my "free" coke and movie lol.

How about let the market decide? I'm actually tired of people bringing giant carry on bags onto the plane. THERE'S NO ROOM for your full size luggage. How about if people don't want to pay for Spirit flights, they fly with someone else? Here we are again with the government babysitting the people. Get out of my healthcare and my luggage. Please, keep the change.

If Spirit Airlines needs the money ...simply raise the price of the ticket !

Oh, I forgot , with higher ticket prices, they wouldn't be able to compete with more favorable airlines. The ones that arrive on time and fly clean airplanes & have happy employees, 'cause they are being a decent wage.

@whoo689 since when does flying on airplane have to be paradise? I mean, I've flown almost 10 times in my lifetime already. Every time it's always a pain in the ass, but you do it cuz it's most convenient. But for the love of god, would it KILL these plane manufacturers to make the thing a little fucking wider, esp. the aisle? It's so cramped, I swear. The highest standard-of-living nation has extremely cramped planes. ...Does that make any sense?

Flying on an airplane is just flying on an airplane. If the flight is something like 16 or 20 hours, then I understand why some folks might wanna bring pillows n shit. But if it's like 2 hours or less, who cares?? That's not nearly enough time to really worry about this crap.
