  • do you have to sand the guitar first?

  • @archzurfer yes the surface must be preped for the primer. if the guitar is already painted and it is not sanded the paint you spray on it will peel of very easly.

  • @evilguitar9430 this was done with rustoleum from Home Depot.

    because i painted mi guitar with can spary paint and when i got to put back all the tuners and electronics

    the paint started to fall off in certain areas.

  • @evilguitar9430 i havent had problems with flaking or chips under normal conditons. if it get wacked it may chip. on these paticular project i used Rustoleum can spray paints. if your looking for a stronger paint i would use actual automotive spray paints. but you will need a compressor and a spray gun but it will overtime last longer.

  • And how many layers of white do we need?

  • How long did you wait in between painting the white to the removal of the tape. Can you remove the tape like an hour or until it dries after you painted the white?

  • i did this with my acoustic guitar becouse i didnt wanna fuck up my LTD :P the acoustic looks really nice

  • @ROCKLEGEND6800 i use regular masking tape 3/4 and for the i cut the tape to size for the 1/8 useing a hobby knife a metal stright edge and cutting matt.
