A game between the two all-star teams (I am East/dark uniform), from a season I have underway. 6 goals were scored in the first 14 minutes of accelerated game time, and 3 goals in the last 17/20, so I skipped the 26 minutes that were scoreless here. So you have 31 minutes of accelerated gameplay with 9 goals scored in them and the end result 5-4 (I'll leave the winner a surprise; the winner deserved a bigger win). The computer difficulty is set to 'medium'. I am not a real hockey fan, but computer hockey rules! However, I am nothing special at the game, either (I don't get how substitutions work or how I keep changing my face-off guys, have the manual but am too lazy to read)!

Audio problems are of an undetermined nature. The pre-uploaded video isn't this bad, though, so I think echo has been made much worse through YouTube recompression. It's possible there is also a sound bug in the game itself (I keep it fairly dimmed down, but I have noticed a nice sounding commentary becomes echoey after a few games), but I'm not confident it's not my drivers (it has happened in one other game while recording). Also the frame rate problems seem to be a problem with the game itself, happens with and without any external tasks on fresh reboots on CPU/GPU well above what was required of a 2001/2002 game (also there are performance problems with NBA Live 2002 and 2003 that don't exist with later NBA Lives, so it seems EA Games had a bit of a lax period there; also more recently in Tiger Woods 2004 but not in 2005, the frame rate problems exist where the hardware is above sufficient). Bugs aside, the game is still a lot of fun! I also have NHL 2004, both games crash on me to some extent or another but 2004 is the same game with different AI and a few fixes here and there. Unfortunately, it also removes many highlights so it's kind of irrelevant. I'd probably take 2002 over 2004 for the extra in game cinematics, frame rate is irrelevant.
