  • @xgotfiveonitx "how is being treated like a common whore, single motherhood living in poverty 'progress'?"

It's the man that has the problem if he's treating women like common whores.

I live in NY and I don't carry "mace" in my purse. I don't have men treating me like a common whore and if he does, that's harassment and I would call police.

" women wear the veil because they dont like men staring at them. "

Women who wear veils in western cultures are stared at..so what's the difference?

  • @kwynrhys how is being treated like a common whore, single motherhood living in poverty 'progress'? women wear the veil because they dont like men staring at them. maybe western women are attention whores who enjoy it, but not all women do. claiming that your culture, your customs, your values grants better or more rights than others is crap. women cant even walk down the streets without carrying mace in their purse.

  • @xgotfiveonitx No the problem is that men feel they can do whatever they want. It has nothing to do with clothing but with an imbalance in power. women have no rights. They deserve the right to be educated, to have a career, to protect their children, and to have a voice. Yes, western culture has a way to go still, but we are further ahead because we have made changes and have tried to create more of a balance. The burqa has become a symbol of oppression.

  • @Msunbird02 I was comparing it to Western traditions. Women have to cover their chests, but men don't.

  • @Msunbird02 um no, sexual harrassement is a real problem in many parts of the world, not just muslims. when a woman covers up, she gets looked at differently. in india, where women do not cover up, is the rape capital of the world.

  • @xgotfiveonitx

That's evidence of the impact of negative psychological conditioning on muslim men and women only.

  • @Msunbird02 what most people dont understand is that many women feel more comfortable that way. especially when horny guys are always staring at their private areas or always hitting on women, they feel more comfortable covering up and thats what many people dont understand.
