Yes, it is a shame. What a voice. They need to listen to this to be restored to sanity.

Magnificent. Too bad the young people today have no idea who he was.

Wow, this is better than Elvis or Mel.

@flesh838 And this is the very reason the music companies keep removing music from youtube!
Not sure why anyone would want to copy this poor quality soundtrack anyway, when you can buy a clear remastered copy from itunes for about 50 cents.

@gramophoneshane And I think Elvis did even better....fantastic for a 19year old Elvis.

What year?

I saw Mr. B at a small club in Chicago in 1953. He was perfection personified! I have some of his 78's hidden away in one of my closets.

Sorry, correction please. The title "Mr. B.", rather "The Great Mr.B.", was initially assigned to Eckstine by a famous white New York Jazz disc jockey by the moniker of Symphony Sid. Sid was one of the few white DJ's, at the time, that would promote Jazz Music.....that's the fact!

Billy Eckstine was a bit of a Fop and dressed sharp. He had a tie clasp with his initials BE and a writer wrote in the paper about him calling him Mr. BE
That minniker stuck.
