  • Correction Moyer's stone face came when Professor Achebe said the missionaries went overboard and it was unnecessary and it damaged the minds of the African people. AGREED!

  • His poem "Vultures" was so difficult for me to read. I thought it was about some vultures who gobble up a lady hiding in a charnel house, while a commandant at Belsen has a BBQ with human roast clinging to his nostrils. Then there's this random glow-worm inside an ogre, who is also in the icy caverns of a cruel heart....

Yeah I was that thick. LOL

  • he sounds just like Mandela.

  • IN 30 YEARS THERE WILL BE 1.5 BILLION AFRICANS HOME AND ABROAD -------WE WILL RISE AGAIN

  • "At such times the ancestors of the clan who had been committed to Mother Earth at their death emerged again as egwugwu through tiny ant holes. (Things Fall Apart pg. 186) How do the egwugwu fit through those tiny ant holes?

  • wow.i read Things Fall Apart. they way he composed was really good...the way he set up the culture and introduced it to us, then told us of the huge complication makes it a classic, i think.

  • yea he does

  • chinua achebe is brilliant.thank you for posting it.i love bill moyers.

  • Have you noticed that Chinua has an East African accent? Could it be years in Makerere?...For me this man beats them all;his stories are authentically evocative of an african village set up.

  • oh my god!! my friend was right!!

this is one of my friends uncles!

his name is Namdi Achebe and i thought he was jk
