  • on a direct southerly, gtown is the last place id go .you obviously havent explored the coast much.......... gtown is shite

  • g town is the closest from my work, you dont get much time to check out other spots when darkness is approaching to check them out. iv surfed around 5 or 6 spots in cork. maybe you could share your knowledge........

  • inchydoney, castlefreke, owenahincha, there all close.another six or seven good spots elsewhere. not that well known,at the weekends explore the coast, youll be surprised what u could find

  • iv surfed all those places, from waterford, to inch in cork, to lucas, gtown, freke, inchydoney, owenahincha, coolmaine, lots of places. my whole point was when the evenings are short, and you finish work, you take what you can get. and some days, and certainly a very small % of the days, gtown is great. but every place can be great on the right forecast. all im saying is dont knock gtown cos it can be really great on the right forecast.

  • i surf gtown a bit too and u have to admit it's usually shite closeouts, even on a good day.

i only head down there cause its the closest break to me and whenever im up for a mess around session

  • gtown closes out a fair bit, ill give you that. but why go there when it closes out? when theres obviously other spots working far better. on a direct southerly theres very few places that beat gtown. i have surfed it countless times, and the days that its good...are days to remember forever. so what if it closes out other times, get it on a good day and you wont say a bad word against the place again

  • @carladavvy REALLY? used to go there as a kid on holls, them waves were class for diving into etc.. never knew it as freke tho, spose with the castle near by it makes sense....

  • @19kevmc freke is one end of longstrand. not for beginners though

  • Hey lads where is freke? Is that Redstrand by anychance or even Longstrand?

  • Really good waves just there closing out explore the coast line of cork and beleive you'll find a great spot

  • Explore further south. There are places better than gtown but gtown is still good.
