Two Nice Girls - Sweet Jane

Lou Reed's 'Sweet Jane' combined with Joan Armatrading's 'Love and Affection'. Somewhere in the 90's I discovered this version on an album with songs from the Rough Trade label. I didn't know the originals by then. They are both very good, but this version is like a trip to heaven.

i loved this band in austin in the late 80s and it's nice to hear them again. i almost rented a room from them. wonder how life would have been different.

@gomezcat1 I remember that Radio 1 programme and i remember this being played one week and then sat for the next few weeks after with my tape recorder waiting for it to come on again, can`t remember the DJ`s name but I think he died of cancer about 15years ago. Saturday afternoons on Radio 1 playing the obscure and people like 10 000 maniacs, REM, Cowboy Junkies and Indigo Girls before they were popular, if you`re lucky you get that at about 3:30am on a Wed now. Oh the joys of being an old fart!

Awesome. This was played on one of those Radio 1 programmes a long, long time ago (Bob Harris, I think) and I have been hunting for it since. I knew it was a Texan female group. Cheers!
