Truck Stop Safety

I've lost a couple of friends due to getting struck and killed at a truck stop. One was Charles Cline, from Athens, Georgia. And Judy Stanton and I became fast friends after I made a video starring her, entitled, "The LadyTrucker Chronicles, Meet Judy". We had spoken the night before she got killed by a hit and run trucker at the Love's Truck Stop in Mifflinburg (Bloomsburg) Pennsylvania. The family is still grieving, and any information that you can provide to the PA State Troopers would be greatly appreciated. Truck stops are supposed to be a trucker's "Safe Haven". When you watch this video, you will see how incredibly dangerous that they can be. Please everyone, slow down in the truck stops! Keep your speed between 3-5 mph, and watch for pedestrians. THEY have the "right of way". God Bless Judy, God Bless Charles Cline, and for all the drivers who have been struck and killed at a truck stop, you will never be forgotten. Let us ALL strive for more safety at our "Safe Haven's".

RIP Judith Stanton. My friend. I will miss you forever.

most truck stops are not lit very well so I put on my reflective vest and proceed with caution..so sorry to hear about judy,god bless..

@westsidemonster A reflective vest is a very good idea, westsidemonster! I use a small flashlight now, and I wave it about a bit as I am walking if it is dark out.

@westsidemonster Safety vest works a world of wonders. In Canada is basically standard driving apparel because their version of OSHA mandates that drivers have a reflective safety vest on when in the dock area of shippers and receivers. And NJKatwoman, flashlights are nice but safety vests are much more visible than a flashlight that may be shining in a direction or way where a driver won't see it.

truck drivers these days speed through the truckstops and rest areas like its the damn indy 500 i dont know why they do it the truck stop isnt goin anywhere that pisses me off slow down and pay attention so people dont get killed out here

All we can do is remind the fast drivers to please slow down. We are going to be criticized,cussed at even threatened. If we only save one person from being ran over it all would be worth it!

people forget how bad it is to walk in a truck stop. i am sorry to hear about your loss of a friend.very hard to get them and a shame to loss them like this.be dafe.

@westsidemonster Thank you for the idea of reflective vests. I'll have to remember that. A couple of mini luminex sticks stuck in the vest wouldn't hurt either.

I'm really, really sorry to hear that, I remember her from your lady driver chronicles series. She will be truly mess. My condolences to her family and friends.
