Sharpies are normally very quiet near the nest once eggs are laid, but once every hour or two the male brings food to the female at the nest. He announces his arrival with a "chick" call which can be heard at some distance from the nest -- so the announcement call of the male is one of the few tell tale sign of an active nest site during summer.
I thiink that the eggs in this nest were just about hatching when this video was taken. After this food transfer the female never fed anything at the nest, but I found a fresh eggshell under the nest when I left.
