Amtrak Engine 21 Train 21 Texas Eagle model: with dubbed sound of real Amtrak passenger train #21 using a camera at a real Amtrak train platform; it is surprising how quiet Amtrak trains can be, with welded rail, and the loudest noise passing by in front of you is actually the HVAC fans on superliners. The engine slowing down at the platform is not very much sound.

  • The crossing bell sound was from an old MRC soundbox with other sounds that were played while making the original Video, then editing that video in Windows moviemaker the second sound track from the Amtrak station platform of the real Amtrak P42 engine and train arriving was added, trying to syn it to the engine passing by me.

  • Is the P42 custom painted?

  • @nashgallo I stripped one of the original Amtraks and painted it myself, a spray of nickel and oxford blue, and microscale decals.

  • was that what your engine really sounds like?

  • @The23113 The soundtrack for this video was dubbed in from the recorded sounds on the Amtrak station platfiorm of a real Amtrak Train #21, not the model railroad engine sound.

  • Nice, but everything south of the red line on the engine should be a dark gray. Just so you know

  • @BWyrick Thanks, I'll work on that. I noticed that too on a recent Amtrak trip, also the front headlamps are wrong on the model

  • how do you single out the station bells from the sountrack to do them separatly? and what speaker did you use- it sounds fantastic

  • Beautiful set. At the begining it reminds me as if I were located in Chicago, just some blocks north from the exit of Union Station, watching the Empire Builder departing to Seattle.

  • where is this located duluth
