Henry Ford said, "In the long run people are going to buy the cheapest, and best article no matter where it's made." If only the American car makers had learned this lesson they wouldn't have needed a bailout. Hum, Ford was the only that didn't.

I think it's hilarious that the cars that overtook America were made in Germany and Japan - the countries we whooped just a few years earlier.

That should have taught us something, but it didn't.

I almost bought a Pacer when they came out. I was looking for an economical car with lots of room and a smooth ride.

Believe me, the Pacer had all that. The problem was: it was UGLY. I just couldn't see myself driving this in public. Maybe after dark, but that's it.
