I am BustedBuzzard and this is my Granddaughter, 10 year old girl, flying a Two Axis Quicksilver Ultralight Trainer with non-steerable nose wheel. We have no intercom and she has learned everything with hand signals. She has been flying with me for 4 years, off and on...and has probably 25 hours of flying time total. Observe her make a take off, fly around, and land unassisted. The foot peddles are not necessary in low wind conditions. I am operating the throttle, however, my granddaughter is operating all the other aspects of the ultralight. I plan on working with her so that by her 13th birthday she will be flying a single seat ultralight solo!

  • BustedBuzzard: Thanks again for all the comments and messages I have received. I plan on working with the kids so that by their 13th birthday they will be flying the ultralight solo!

  • Positives: A grandpa that had 1 on 1, teaching his granddaughter how to fly, she can only be so fortunate and lucky to have that influence in her life. This is building her character, confidence, she can look at others and know she is unique!

    Negatives: Obama

How short is our memory? How do we make this mistake again? Does grandpa get to fly his granddaughter around in his MX? They legalize abortion, medical pot, gay marrage, yet grandpa has to register is MX as light sport! ???????

  • BustedBuzzard: I hold a private pilot license. This MX2 was registered experimental amateur built in 1984 and has a current air worthiness inspection. Thank you all for your comments.

  • Thanks for the comments, I wish more people can see that kids can do more than play video games during summer vacation!

  • This is my little girl. My dad aka "BustedBuzzard" has been teaching her to fly his ultralight. I am very proud of her. This video was taken yesterday. She is doing everything on her own!
