One of my all time favorites. This version is far more better than any other, even the original one. It has more sense and more emotion. This was originally recorded by Nancy Sinatra, later had a dozen re-makes and different versions from the synth pop to the metal. This is one of the saddest versions.
IN MY ROOM
In my room,
way at the end of the hall,
I sit and stare at the wall,
thinking how lonely I've grown,
all alone in my room.
In my room where every night is the same,
I play a dangerous game.
I keep pretending she's late,
and I sit and I wait....
Over there is a picture I took when I made her my bride.
Over there is a chair where I held her whenever she cried.
Over there by the window the flowers she left, have all died....
In my room,
way at the end of the hall,
I sit and stare at the wall,
thinking how lonely I've grown,
all alone. In my room....
This song was originally a latin bolero called 'El Amor' and was sung by Antonio Prieto among others in the early 60's. I Think the first version of it sung in English was The Walker Brothers' one, which featured Scott Engel singing the lead in an amazing performance. This version absolutely rules. I Had no idea it was covered so many times over the years. It's one of my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing this!
