This year the holiday windows at Saks in NYC are based on the book, A FLake Like Mike, written by Mike Reiss and illustrated by Chris Capuozzo.
The book is about a zany snowflake who asserts his individuality at a time when all snowflakes looked alike. The sstory is set in an abstract past, when todays parents were young and dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Mikes individualism inspires others. He is honored in his own parade, gets an audience with the snowflake mayor and is featured on the cover of The Daily Flake, the local tabloid. Today, thanks to Mike, snow now floats down to the earth, flake by flake, instead of dropping in one big whomp.
Jess, I'm so happy for your brother Chris. He did an awesome job here. To bring smiles to the faces of children is always a good thing. Great and I'm sure very hard work to make this look so simple and fun! Vince
