Agreeing with Lovealonediealone8 here; the ads target men as the perpetrators of violence against women because it's the most common. 57% of women in Australia have reported experiencing abuse over their lifetimes, and in relationships that ended in homicide, over 76.9% involved a male attacker and a female victim.
Yes, men experience abuse too, and there should be more support for that, but you can't look at those statistics and say that the government shouldn't be defending women at all.

@JepJep92 I mean that it doesn't surprise me because since Australia is very much against violence against women, the government WOULD approve of this WITHOUT realizing the consequences of it first. Other related public service announcements that the country made prove this. The government only sees men as the perpetrators and women as the victims. Britain and America do the same thing. It's sad, really.
I'm not saying that they're horrible countries, but they shouldn't be so one-sided. =(
