That's what I was about to ask you. I guess I don't understand the point of a robot drink mixer. I mean if its for looks I would certainly throw some silly straws in there :P

Why so slow? Machines are supposed to make things faster and automated. I think I can make like 20 white Russians in that time. Also, If you have to manually start and stop for each liquid then whats automated?

@FatalMusa Cocktail robotics is about making showy robots that pour drinks. Higher speed is actually undesirable, and will usually get lower scores in judging. If we turn up the speed so that it just squirts out the drink in three seconds flat (easy to do), you've lost all the showy elements. At that point, why not just replace it with one of those handheld dispensers that bartenders use?

No, not really. In a dead-silent room, with the mike eight inches away, you can hear it easily. In the bar, you couldn't hear it all. Customers couldn't tell when it was running.
