  • In the 60's they called TV a vast wasteland, considering the absolute crap that is on

television now I would call it the best decade of TV!

  • @pattievogt Best NCIS line ever: Abby: Who did ducky look like when he was younger? Gibbs: Ilya Kuryakin

  • @trdidion Yes. You are correct. Robert Vaughn did star in Bullitt. He portrayed Walter Chalmers, a self-serving politician who attempts to make friends with Frank Bullitt. When the main Mob witness dies during a Mob probe, Chalmers tries to have Lt. Bullitt fired.

This Chalmers character ruined Vaughn's chance to enter politics.

  • Sounds rather unlikely, but The Man from UNCLE was created by Ian Fleming.

  • an American & a Russian working for a British boss.............It's the way things are meant to be! lol

  • i think this tune and mission impossible were the best tv themes of the 60's, peace out people

  • best theme ever and so 60.s

  • Circa mid 60's, Thursday night. 7-30 Top of the Pops

    8-00 Man From Uncle.

Now that was the dogs bollocks.

  • The best of the four arrangements of the themes by a LONG way, is this one, Season 2's. New one for each season, oddly. Jerry Goldsmith was furious at how Lalo Schifrin had messed with his tune for this sophomore year, though I am positive he was just jealous that Lalo had done a far better arrangement. Best spy theme tune of them all....for TV that is.

  • I think Vaughn was in Bullitt too

  • @fatwalletboy2

Apparently, Stephen Soderburgh's planning a big movie remake...and George Clooney's being tipped to play Solo. The movie would retain its 1960's setting. I think Brad Pitt would be good as Kuryakin.
