@BeateSmock Look at brain scans of a depressed person vs a 'regular' person. I am not sure if god exists but having such faith in something guiding your life and helping you along would probably be stronger than therapy regardless if it was true or not. Peoples level of depression vary and so do the fixes.

@BeateSmock You have no idea the kind of pain some people have to deal with - this is shit which is not natural. Believe whatever it is you believe, that's fine so long it doesn't cause you to hurt anyone else. I find it somewhat ignorant to hear people preaching to me their religious alibi when I tell them I have a problem with this or that. It's very irritating, and quite insulting. I'm not trying to encroach on your own beliefs and values here, I'm just saying it's...

Amazing how ignorant people are. Had my mother trying to tell me put my socks out to be washed when im in the middle of a panic attack, and depression is because I 'sleep in' the ignorance is a fucking stounding.

huh? there is a stigma against other parts. Liver is associated with alcoholism, the heart with poor diet, lungs with smoking, and ass pains with hemorrhoids.

A book that talks about different mental illness is Moodswing by Dr. Ronald Fieve. After reading the book, you'll find it quite surprising that he still practices and researches in NYC!

How about renewing your mind with the word of God? Than the brain gets rest! Too many people do not WANT to take responsibility for their actions, or turn around from "bad" behavior, get off mind controlling drugs. Who can tell the difference? Doctors sure can't. The answer to the problem is renewing of the mind by following Jesus!
