Some shots I did at the lovely waterfalls at Ingleton. These are raw shots, no colour correction. I used a Canon FD 50mm 1.2, a kit 14-42 lens and an Olympus 9-18 wide angle and a Canon FD 135mm 3.5 for one shot. Most were hand held. For speed, I edited the 1080p 25FPS AVCHD files using iMovie 11. I used the reduce file size option and exported at 720p so some of the original quality has been lost. The footage was shot at 1/50th of a second, conforming to the 180 degree shutter rule.

On this camera, I far prefer using older non-AF lenses, even when shooting stills.

  • This was a beautiful video Alan, fantastic shots, enjoyed it. Paul.

  • @007vauxhall Hi Paul - I was trying out the camera and lens combinations. Made for a nice walk though - waterfalls galore!

  • It looks great. Videos like these are amazing when you think of the Youtube of 2006 and it's horrible processing. Yours came through nice and clear with just a bit of hiccup around 1:20 where you were panning, but this may be me (this laptop) or the processing by Youtube. I could try it again on a stronger computer.

  • @Toppervision1 Cheers Mike. Are you active? - I haven't seen anything on my notifications lately but that might be a Youtube thing. I must drop by your channel. Do you use Firefox? I was having trouble with video content, tearing and stuttering and even installed SwitchResX to speed up my graphics. When I watched the same videos on Chrome they played back much more smoothly. Obviously the raw version plays back fine. I agree, the old stuff looks really creaky doesn't it?

  • @alanstarkie2001 Ha, yes, I'm still active. Actively working too much. No time for anything fun. Aha, yes, I viewed this on IE which is probably the problem. I had tried Chrome and liked it and forgot to make it the default.

  • Youtube bought a Dublin based company that process our video behind the scenes when we upload it, thats why picture quality went up about 6 months ago.

  • its a n ice walk, but a while since I did it.
