A very short movie, showing Moorbarrow finally in steam on the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway 29/3/2009.
At the end we look back at the loco when it had just arrived on the North Yorkshire Moors railway and was waiting in Pickering Station for restoration, which was to take almost forty years!

  • I was there yesterday and was surprised to see Mardy Monster! Always worth calling in on my way home.

  • We saw Moorbarrow AKA Backworth No. 47 in steam at Foxfield Gala this weekend. It was minus nameplate, repainted blue witha large 47 and hopefully will be lined out similarly to its partner Wimblebury?

  • Just wondered if the LWR have started laying track towards Utterby yet??

  • @farmerkristian Yep, i agree he sounds liek a right twat :-)

  • he's a arsehole because his loco that was here under contract for us to restore it and run it expired in the last year or so which cost us £150k plus and the terms of his new agreement was completely wrong and made it more difficult for us because he wanted us to have another engine in the same state that moorbarrow was when it arrived and we said no and he basicly acted like a twat making it impossible for us to agree his new terms!

  • @farmerkristian Really? he's an arsehole?? Why? do tell...:-)

  • like to mention that the owner of no 47'Wheelbarrow ' is a complete ARSEHOLE!

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Many thanks for that farmerkristian. Ive recently managed to trace a copy of railway ghosts and phantoms by mr. herbert although the information on ted lancaster is a little sketchy. I understand a couple visiting friends in louth had a strange experience on what used to be the old crossing at pear tree lane in utterby. I vistted LWR last weekend and i have to say what a wonderful job they are doing, especially on account of there being a recent theft of equipment etc...
