An Irish dance piece created for the final performance exam (2007) in the BA Irish music and dance programme at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, Limerick.
Before this piece was created, the exam/show running order contained only one hardshoe piece ("Chorine") and two other pieces with hardshoe elements ("Habit" and "Echo"). "Zest" was made to try to restore the balance. Like "Chorine," it's based on rhythmic patterns and adherence to the tunes rather than creating steps to lie on top of the music.
Choreographer/dancer: Nicholas Yenson
Assisting choreographer/project supervisor: Michael Ryan
Music: 'Gone Fishing' - Sarah Allen; 'Shuffle' - Damien O'Kane; performed by Flook.

hey nic, sorry it took me so long to check this our... this is very cool. the choreography is so musical, great job making the steps to the tune, especially the last step. have you ever thought about submitting your work to Liam Harney? I think he'd be interested in seeing it.
