Nick stared at Demi during class. Today was the day he decided to tell her he loved her. They have been friends since the second grade, when she defended him against the mean boys who used to tease him. The immediately became friends, up until 11th grade, present-day. He had been debating for months when, and where he was going to confess. He finally decided to do it on Halloween, in Griffith's Cemetery.
The bell rang, and Nick jumped out of his daze, making his books hit the floor with a loud thud. The class snickered. Demi turn around, oblivious to what made the sound. She looks to see her best friend Nick quickly picking up his notebook. He looks up, and their eyes meet. Nick stands up, and sits down, before giving her a small smile.
During class, Demi felt as if she were being watched. but not by just anyone: that someone just happened to be Nick, who was sitting four seats behind her. She noticed he had been staring at her everywhere she went. The library, the hallways. She even caught him staring at her when she was coming out of the locker room. She kept trying to ignore it, but she couldn't ignore it any longer. Today, she was going to ask him what was up with his continuous staring.
a note landed on Demi's desk, interrupting her intense thoughts. Curious, she opened it, and read:
"Meet me at Griffith's Cemetery, at 11:55"
She frowned, and read the note again. The Cemetery? Why the Cemetery? Especially on Halloween. She turned around, and mouthed, "The Cemetery?"
He nodded. if they were going to meet anywhere, it HAD the be there. The bell rang, and class was over. Nick grabbed his bookbag, and began walking out of the class. Demi saw him leaving, and ran to catch up with him. "Nick!" She called out. She caught up with him. "Why the Cemetery?"
"Since it's Halloween, I was thinking we could have fun" Nick lied, hoping his voice wasn't shaking.
"What can we possibly do in there?" Nick shrugged. By now
Nick wasn't making any sense to Demi. Who would want to go to a cemetery? She sighed. "Look, I'll talk to you later. Bye." She walked away to her locker.
Lunch passes, and everyone was home. Nick hadn't spoke to her since this morning. he was now in his room, practicing how he was going to tell her. Lying on his bed, he sighed. "I love you, Demi" He shook his head. Not goo enough. "I love you, Demi" He tried to act cool, and say it Sexily. He sat up, and buried his head in his hands. "Ugh, Nick, think!" He scolded himself. He thought for a moment, and then grabbed a small box, and put it in his sweatshirt pocket.
