@TamaTheTortoise Cool, well if i ever think about breeding ill get a female.... but i love edward haha

@AwesomeDudes14 I'm not kidding. Tortoises and (sea)turtles are solitary. In their natural habitat, they often meet each other in mating season only.

@TamaTheTortoise oh wow! thats weird... haha whatever

@AwesomeDudes14 Yeah, big enough for Edward. But imho, even 2 adult (and friendly) females would need a larger one. Tortoises aren't gregarious animals. Edward won't feel lonely without a fellow. So, don't be too sad if you won't get another tort.

I had 2 male hermanni. as they were kids, they got along pretty well. then they started to ram each other for most of the time. thats why I had to give away one of the guys...T_T

@TheTortlord Sad to say, males can become quite violent. On the other hand they are really active and love to climb, whilst females are calmer.

@TamaTheTortoise Do you have a male tort too?

@TheTortlord I did, he died of an infection at the age of 25.

@TamaTheTortoise Oh, interesting...I didn't know that females were calmer.

@11wormbig
In general they are calmer, except if they want to oviposit. Then most females leave their territory so that their offspring get their own playground. Oviposition behaviour is one main reason why some females try hard to escape even very large enclosures.
