  • @AWE319 Ron Paul? Really? All he talks about is just problems with the government. He says nothing about gas prices, he does not say much about jobs, and his age will effect his chances of even becoming the Republican primary in 2012. It would be better if we had James Buchanan or Warren G. Harding as President again instead of Ron Paul, so I say Mitt Romney for President.

  • Lloyd Bentson was a far better candidate for President than Michael Dukakis. It is rare that the V.P. would be a better candidate than the Presidential one.No wonder they were destroyed.

  • did you know bush started nafta!

  • George Bush the first, was a wonderful liberal.

  • A notion of a President Dukakis was more troubling.

  • @UncleMikeNJ Hey Uncle Mike! I find it odd that you are making pronouncements regarding intelligence. You correctly note Gingrich, yet did not see the intelligence of GWB (can anyone that saw the shoe-throwing incident doubt it?), and somehow did not see the utter retardation of Dukakis and his followers. That shot of him in his little hat in the tank was priceless.

  • Bush (George) vs. Bush (Dukakis' eyebrows), with the punchline - Dan Quayle - at 0:17.

  • We may just owe Quayle an apology. He was never as stupid as Bush's son, or Palin, or the doofuses (or should that be "doofii"?) running for the Republican nomination this time. The smartest of the bunch are Gingrich, who's unqualified on so many levels, and Huntsman, who's running at, what, 3 percent?

  • @aitraining Biden gaffes more than Quayle? Biden would never say, "I wish I'd studied Latin more because of my visits to Latin America." Then again, being Catholic, Biden probably does know some Latin. Quayle was an idiot.

  • @destroyerofsenses Name one.

  • @zazozung I don't think so, I think Ford was lucky to have lost. Whoever won in 1976 was going to get smacked over the next 4 years. If Reagan had won the nomination in 1976, Ted Kennedy would have slaughtered him in 1980.

  • The candidates in 1988 were somewhat weak. One of the weakest pair of tickets in a long time. (1976 wasn't the best year either, though Ford may have proven to be a very good president had he had a full term away from the shadow of Nixon.)
