Live from "The Cactus Cafe" in Austin Texas, Sarah Jarosz performs her original song "Left Home". She is joined on fiddle by Alex Hargreaves And on upright Bass Samson Grisman. Sarah is a true spirit and even at her young age is considered one of the top talents. I personally first saw her playing at age 14 with the David Grisman Quintet and was blown away. Luckily I've been in Austin the past few years and have been able to see her grow into major label artist. Her new album "Song up in her head" is a fantastic record with some of the biggest names in bluegrass/acoustic music on it. Sarah is worthy of all the praise and attention she is given and handles it with the poise of a seasoned veteran. Make sure you support the artists and buy studio releases and go to live shows.

  • She wrote this song when she was 12 years old and still performs it regularly in her live shows. It cracks me up every time I think of a 12 year old coming up with a line like "Tonight public transportation's my private ride."

  • Pure joy. She brought tears to my eyes. A rare find, for sure.

  • @xtelemasterx me toooooooo

  • @9firefly9 very well put. i currently have the biggest crush on her... lol being a semi-professional musician of the last 25 yrs or so, i havent ran across raw talent like her anywhere. very rare little gem is she.

  • This is a WONDERFUL Bluegrass song!! :)

I'm a HUGE Country Music fan but recently I've been trying to get into Bluegrass music as well. Any recommendations who to listen to are welcome. :)

    Thanks!! :)

  • Anyone who can write music like this, and play 6 instruments (clawhammer banjo, mandolin, guitar, piano, octave mandolin, fiddle) at this age (18) is a very extraordinary human being. Sarah is one in a million.
