Peaceful demostration against the illegal Referendum

On Friday May 2, 2008, the Bolivian community in Ottawa and friends from different nationalities got together to express their solidarity with Bolivian majorities and denounce the illegal Referendum that took place on May 4, 2008, in Santa Cruz.

After gathering in the lobby of the Bolivian Embassy, the group had an informal meeting in which the current situation was discussed by the National Coordinator of the BOLIVIA ACTION SOLIDARITY NETWORK (www.bolivia.grupoapoyo.org).

Then the Bolivian troubadour Gustavo Saavedra sang several songs to express the collective support of the Latin American community in Ottawa in favour of the process of change in Bolivia.
