Gemma and Kartik

A tribute to one of my favorite literary couples - from the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray. I've always wanted to make a Gemma/Kartik video and I finally did! I'm really new at fanvid thing but I had fun putting this together and I hope it's enjoyable!

BIG SPOILERS btw for those who haven't read the books, just so we're clear...

The vid is basically Gemma and Kartik's story from when they first meet, their initial distrust of each other, falling in love, Kartik's sacrifice, and then the bittersweet conclusion of TSFT.

Notes: Eugen Bauder is not my ideal Kartik, since I don't imagine Kartik as spending half his time shirtless and looking pouty. However Eugen will have to do for now :).
Also, I briefly used Kate Winslet, Sophia Myles, Leo DiCaprio and James Franco as stands in for Gemma and Kartik. You barely see them so I hope it doesn't offend the nitpickers too much ;).

WHY does everyone think of Rachel Hurd-wood as Gemma! They don't have to just be able to look the part they have to act the part and to me personally i think she is a horrible actress!

She's never played a character quite like Gemma, but that doesn't mean she couldn't do it. She's a capable actress because she brings something different to each of her roles (even when they are similar characters in similar situations, like in Perfume and AAH, they are distinctive people). Which makes me think she has the acting chops to be Gemma.

@Minxie18 not in The Picture of Dorian Gray. i think shes kinda a snob. and i love Dorian so i just dont like her for capturing his heart and causing his distruction (also i blame lord henry)

UGH! I read this series two years ago, and now I'm crying all over again! Geez, this book makes me so emotional!

The quotes were great.  And I LOVED one of the guys you found for Kartik, the guy with his shirt off. It's exactly how I pictured Kartik to look.

And there is the little detail that Kartik is Indian which means he is Asian. ^^

Something I highly doubt Hollywood would stay true to in the movie. They would make him some white English Gentalmen.

Because Hollywood hates to have Asian sex symbols. Someone who doesn't fit into their criteria or Nerdy,Technical, skinny, and short.

No Hollywood is almost determined to never let that happen.

But anyway your video was beautiful. ^^
