Billie Mahoney In Sync Across Performances

Billie Mahoney was performing with her over-50 tap group, The Billie Mahoney Dance Troupe (6 July 2007) just prior to heading to New York City for the annual Tap City festival. They did two run-throughs. First for the starting audience and then a shorter run-through for late-comers. I noticed in the spotlights that Billie was exactly right on with both sets. I wanted to see how close the two performances were so I put the first on top of the second and matched them on the sound track. IT came from CD so there was no live-music variance in timing meaning the dancers would have to be spot on each time in the routines. Sure, enough, Billie was right there. I picked out a short sequence so that I could show this a couple of different ways without making a long video. It looks so good it could almost be two cameras shooting a single run-through instead of what it was, my single camera (a GL2) shooting twice at a roughly ten-minute interval.
