ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - Dr. Brad Berk, CEO-on-leave from the University of Rochester Medical Center, speaks with WXXI's Julie Philipp about his injury, his rehabilitation and his hopes for the future.
Berk was injured in a bicycle accident last May. He lost control of his bike going into a curve along Canandaigua Lake. He sustained a serious spinal cord injury and continues to undergo rehabilitation.
While Berk recovers, his duties as medical center CEO are being carried out by Dr. Mark Taubman. Berk says he intends to return to work full-time once he's recovered. He spent three months last summer in intensive rehabilitation at a spinal cord injury center in New Jersey. © Copyright 2010, WXXI
