@zizouzenati I know full well that as the Roman Empire expanded it came to incorporate many peoples. But I initially commented on this video because it is one of those videos by crazy people who try to say all ancient Mediterranean and Middle Eastern people were black! This is absurd as I'm sure you agree. By the way, I was always fascinated that Septimus' father's family name was Geta, because my grandmother's family name is Gaeta, an ancient Latin name. Peace.
@zizouzenati The original Romans (Latini) were one of the tribes of ancient Italia. They along with the Etrusci, Samnites, Lucani, Liguri, Sebelli, among others, make up what we now refer to as the Italic peoples. The Romans came to dominate the peninsula which they themselves referred to as ITALIA. Italia was the homeland of the Romans. As for Septimus Severus, you made my point, which is, that at least part of his ancestry was Italian.
@MaxLibertas Dirst of all Rome and Italia are TWO different things. Rome is an EMPIRE and Italia a little South European country which the ancient Greeks called Magna Graecia(Great Greece). Rome was an Empire which was so great and POWERFULL becuase of the fact that included all Mediterranean countries and SUPPORT. Septimus Severus was a Roman, his father Publius Septimius Geta was an Amazigh from Modern Libya. His Mother Fulvia Pia was Italian. His wife was Syrian. Club Med.
@TRANFUCKER Nubia, Axum, Benin, Ghana Empire, Mali Empire, Songhai Empire, Nok, Great Zimbabwe there's plenty of them that's all I can think of at the top of my head.
WHAT A FUCKIN MORON VIIDEO SEPTIMUS SEVERUS WAS WHITE. DOES THAT SCULPTURE SHOWS OTHERWISE? WHAT THE FUCK WHERE HE WAS BORN TO BORN IN SOME PLACE DON'T GIVES U YOUR RACE THE GENES DO. ANDAND BY THE WAY BLACK MEN IN AFRICA LIVE DOWN THE SAHARA DESERT NOT IN THE NORTH OF AFRICA IGNORANTS!
@mulud85 Let me explain. Trajan and Hadrian were born in what is now Spain, but their families were Italian colonial families. I believe the same is true of Septimius Severus. He was born in what is now Libya, but his family origins were most likely Italian. Why do I believe this? Because his name is Latin, not Carthaginian or Amazigh! Could he have been amazigh or part amazigh? Yes. But I believe his Latin name points to Latin origins. Which means...ITALIA!
@mulud85 I am not sure what you are disagreeing with. The indigenous people of North Africa are indeed amazigh (berber). Along the coast, there is likely some Mediterranean (Phoenician, Greek, Roman) and Arab admixture. Many ignorant people, like those who make these videos, think all Africans are sub-saharan black Africans like Nigerians or Angolans, and that all the great ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean and the Middle East were black African. It is totally absurd!
@MrScrillatv Amen my friend Amen. It's terrible the way religion has come to divide so many people and cause so much hate and terror across the globe. However, I am by no means against it. I believe there must be a higher power that enabled us to come to be. I just highly doubt that it was one of the higher powers that people believe in or follow today.
