The teething biscuits keep him quiet- but also make a HUGE mess!! My LO is very observant- so he spends more time looking and flirting than making a fuss :)
Another good tip- always carry a clothespin in your purse or diaperbag. If the restaurant has cloth napkins, just clip on the back of the neck bib style. Enviromentally friendly, cheap and mess free for you! (dont try w. paper- you will end up with shreds instead)
I do need one of those plastic tablecovers though...

Thanks great suggestions! I have used cloth napkins as bibs on occasion by tying them in the back (baby looked a bit like Jesse James about to rob a train) but the clothespin is a very good idea, especially if the napkin is too small to tie.
