@mouthmw it should be. before i got my 1001rb i was playing gigs with a little 200 watt combo amp and that was sufficient for small venues.

@electrobassist yea once I turned down on my amp a bit, it's all good! That 700RB gets damn loud too! Now I'm only thinking of trying a different amp to warm up the 412 NEO a bit. I will test it with Markbass R500 which is a very tubey sounding amp. Hoping its 500W will be enough power for gigs.

@mouthmw I also use a 1001Rb and i have the boost knob at about 1 and i will start to get the farting sound when its over halfway up but i would never need to turn it up that far!

did you mic the cab or run a direct out from the amp? if you used a mic, what mic did you use?

@ke5eaj its the direct out from my gallien krueger, but i would use a Electro Voice RE 27.

Awesome! Hey man are you using GK NEO 412 and 1001RB for live gigs? I used my GK NEO 412 with 700RB II but I get farty tone once I crank the amp up, I think I need more powerful amp like 1001RB. Have you ever had distorted fart like tones on your low notes?
