How to fake the piano or keyboard at the Christmas party. There have been many books written about using Fake Chords, which is a way to play complex songs with easier chords. This is the only video lesson I know of that shows you how to get a party started when you really don't know a lot about playing piano. You can make a group of party goers think you are pretty good just by doing a few riffs and slides on the keyboard. I used to teach actors how to look like they were playing piano in a scene. This is the same idea, only you will actually be playing something. How to sell yourself. Chords for Jingle Bells and Jolly Old Saint Nicholas are shown. The flourishes demonstrated in this video will not show you any new chords, but they will add to your confidence when it comes time to get a show started at a party. Just a few riffs played before you begin to sing will add to your confidence and it will keep you from becoming a mechanical robotic performer. Have fun when you perform. This is a good way to start.

  • Hello! where is the lesson 10?

    cheers!

  • @nelsonthekinger It is up. It is a song called Anytime. If you search YouTube "Piano Chord Tutorial #10" it comes up. Thanks.

  • Ha I've always found it amusing that I can just play chord after chord and people think it's a real song. These are the standards that have been set I guess.

  • Entertainers usually use chords until they play an instrumental break. For vocalists it is best if all instruments are playing the chords while the vocal is being performed. I have heard some great melody players like Frankie Carle and Floyd Cramer and some great chord players like Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino and even Elvis and Marty Robbins recorded with piano chords they were playing. If you play chords you are in great company. Thanks.

  • i am still trying to get the nerve up to try the keyboard and i have looked on utube for weeks but your style is the best i have seen. Thank you for sharing your great knowledge . to teach as you do is great. thank you

  • Just go for it and have fun. The crowd will love you.
