This is a demonstration of my home made Edison 1878 "Brady model" tinfoil phonograph which i'm always trying to improve. It's amazing how simple it is, yet it works.

  • That's right, though I do own some tin foil I got from Rene Rondeau. But it's adjusted for aluminum right now

  • This could be made in a metal shop. The most import thing would be to thread the cylinder on a lathe. It can be made from a pipe, either metal or PVC.

  • Great stuff. But you forget to say "ha ha ha" at the end ! I need to try to make one of these, but it wont be as complete as yours. Well done.

  • Interestingly, Edison remembered saying, "How do you get that now. Hello, Hello". Spencer Tracy said "Ha Ha Ha" in the 1940 film.

  • Would you consider selling?

  • I coud end you some instructions at your e-mail addres

  • How 'bout "Mary had a little lamb, a little salad, a little pie, a little coffee - for Mary had a little appetite !"

  • It's not "tinfoil;" it's ALUMINUM foil!

  • @phonoplane could you send me if I can make this in metalshop

  • Calm Down!

  • Mary had a little lamb

    Her pappy shot it dead

Now she carries that lamb to school

    Between two slices of bread

  • Geesh sounded just like you did...

  • Did you have a model to go off of? I wanna make one!
