People have realised in the middle east that the whole damn SYSTEM needs changing, not just the government. All three main parties in Britain are centre-right neo-liberals. This is not democracy. Don't just march, TAKE DIRECT ACTION.

Such a show of SOLIDARITY among fellow unionists brings a tear to my eye. So sorry that I couldn't be there.

@BurntOakTree It was down to the working class to support the miners. Some did, but only in a passive manner, by donating food, clothing and money. Others I came across, when actively trying to build support at the time, were even hostile to the NUM and particularly to Arthur Scargill. No elite group, or leaders can substitute themselves for the power of the working class when they refuse to, for whatever reason, act on their own behalf. Attacking the TUC more than 25 years later achieves what?

The TUC are a bunch of spinless sell out morons! They allowed the 1984 miners strike to be brutally crushed by the state! All they are prepared to do is organise stupid A to B marches which achieve absolutly nothing. The cuts will come in and the cuts will be harsh and damaging but don't expect the TUC to stop them. I am all for the brave young people who brought the battle to capitalists that day and broke away from the main march attacking targets in the west end.
Next time we should occupy the financial and banking centre of London, or parliament square. Imagine if we could mobilise this many people for a mass occupation. Step it up TUC!

@pebbleface2 the TUC will follow the will of its members. General Strike takes building, lets build that.
