I agree with your observation, you pose a very goof question - where were they when Bush was in office?

I suspect this is another faux "grass roots movement" built by status quo Republicans and populated with unknowing dupes.

Some of the supporters are sincere but at the head of this are the status quo Republicans whose only goal in all of this is to get back in power. Once there it will be business (taxation) as usual.

I don't see it as a racist thing though.
