Marxist UT Professor Harry Cleaver compares wages to grades, grossly mischaracterizes capitalism, calls prisons gulags, and blames capitalism for the genocide of the Native Americans and for the incarceration on black Americans.

  • I took Cleaver's Marxist Theory and Political Economy of International Crises courses. Without a doubt, he's the most thought-provoking professor I've had at UT. He will certainly be missed now that he's retired.

  • Dear friends, the professor is right! American democracy is founded on the genocide of Native Americans! Almost 60 million of them have been killed in North America and over 100 million in South America! Check out the work of Serbian philosopher Ljubodrag Simonovic Duci, who speaks about the capitalism being ecocidal and genocidal totalitarian order which subordinated everything to profit creation!

  • If you only knew how lucky you are to have Cleaver at your school. Anyway keep posting please

  • Very poor audio. No video except a still photo.

  • I took a number of Cleaver's classes at UT in the late 1980s. He was an inspiring teacher with an original take on things. Some of his ideas have stayed with me more than others. It won't harm anyone to be exposed to him.

  • wage slave exploitation and repression. This is the essence of the decadent capitalist fascist state

  • "Demand fairness and balance in the classroom"? Wasn't this clip taken from a Marxist Economics class? Isn't this the only Marxist in the entire Economics Department? Is it not the case that professor Cleaver has been essentially pushed aside by the University administration despite working there for over thirty years?

No, you're right. It would be a shame if we allowed a single professor in that department to serve as anything else than as an agent of the McCombs Business School.

  • did you ask for permission to record this lecture? did you ask permission to post this? do you respect intellectual property? (if you're a defender of capitalism, i assume so)

  • What he is talking about isn't capitalism. I guess he doesn't know what capitalism is.
