Welcome to MyBinding How To videos. Today we answer the question how to use a paper cutter. To be honest, paper cutters can be a little intimidating. Here's how it works, nice and simple and safe.
If you have a safety lock on your trimmer, be sure to always keep it closed when you're not trimming paper. Papers is always face up on the face of the machine. There will be some sort of a grid or measuring tool by which you can make the precise cut. These measuring tools certainly vary between machine but use them, they're very helpful. And if there's a lock, lock the fence down so things stay consistent through your whole project. It's a great idea always to use scrap papers just to check to make sure your cut is what you need. This is what's known as a classic guillotine style cutter. The lever arm is quick and precise but can be dangerous. Roller trimmers slice horizontally along the paper, usually encased completely by a shield. There are also electronic trimmers. Simply press a button and the same kind of rolling trimmers will slice through your job. No doubt you'll use your paper trimmer a lot, so shop well before you purchase and make a great investment. It will definitely pay off.
There it is, that's how to use a paper cutter. For other reviews and how to's, check out MyBinding.com.
