    Siri was bought by Apple on 2010 while Tellme was bought by Microsoft on 2007

    Does it matter how it started? Google bought Android as well. Both companies worked on it to their liking before releasing.

    Apple didnt even make siri, They just bought the company that was developing it. Verizon actually had a deal to put it on all there "droid" phones before apple bought it and of course ended that deal
