To tell the truth the mere knowledge that some can get a full scholarship for atheletics and go to school either to party or drop out has always disgusted me. I don't know if a complet overhaul is needed, though it may be for the best. But I have an idea for a moderate, sensiable change. The athleates must first be accepted based on thier acedimics.

I think college sports should be dropped altogether. Our kids can't afford this anymore. The basketball coach at Temple makes over $650k! What college professor makes that kind of money? Schools build stadiums and sports centers with the profit of the tuition price.Since tax payers support the tuition system through gov student loans, none of the money should be going towards sports. We need to end the collegiate sports system, NOW!

I used to take the idea of god seriously, even after i became an atheist i would still think about the idea sometimes. Now I just find it ridiculous. Atheism isn't as rejected as people think it is, it's the mindset of the future.

Re: Athletic Scholarships

You have to consider that the athletes might end up bringing money into the school through ticket sales for the athletic event. This money could be used to help financially needy students.
