Merry Ho Ho - look at all that snow we "totally had this year", because this was obviously not filmed last year - at all - in any way.

Anyway, Merry Christmas! Bring on 2k12!

  • @OliverNewport Where did you get all the sounds ? Like the voice of children playing? or was it just sound picked up in the film which you cut up and replaced.

    Thanks

  • @TheGuliey Ah, I picked them up on my camera's microphone and then added a tonne of reverb to them. You could use a website like FreeSound to get something similar.

  • Great stuff Olly - what editing software are you using?

  • @olllie24 I use Final Cut Pro, combined with Magic Bullet Looks and Soundtrack Pro. :)

  • @OliverNewport aah - that reminds me to throw my computer out of the window and finally go get a freakin mac :) - yeah, those magic bullet plugins are great - I remember fiddling around with them a couple of times..

Anyhow - keep it up, great stuff :)

  • @olllie24 Aha, well just remember that editing isn't about the software. You could make that video on any editing software no matter how basic (Premier is a good option). Editing is about pacing, editing is about emotion, editing is about storytelling.

Editing isn't just the equipment you use, but a mindset, an ability to tell stories and create narrative and structure reality. Editing doesn't just have to be on a Mac. :)

  • I think I saw Jack Moore carving Katy Perry's face into his leg behind that snowman. Bless him.

  • @OliverNewport Yes, ofcourse you dont need this-and-that to make a good video. It's only that there are so many things that can make it easier for you to make your ideas/visions happen. I worked with premiere as well as with final cut and I must say that working on a apple was just a relief - it was easier to transform ideas into some kind of a result.

but at the end of the day - of course it was never about these gadgets.... no need to stress that.

  • Looks awesome oli

  • wow Olly, really good!
