@AmdoGolok : Culturally when I have to trace back, my great great grandparents came from Kham part of Tibet and that is why I am so very much interested to understand more about the Tibetan Culture and appreciate the Tibetan music. I only wish that I can understand fluent Tibetan so that I can understand about the meaning of music. Most of the Sherpa people who sing Sherpa song are pretty much same as Tibetan song. Thuchiche!!!

Thank you so much for your kind respond. Very happy to know the meaning of the Yar-kyi! Actually my heritage and/or root goes back to Tibet, but I am Sherpa regionally from Chomolangmo area of Nepal, but been away for so long now that I live in the US. thank you again.

@pgsherpa1 I come from Amdo region of north-eastern Tibet but now I'm living in Switzerland. I like the Sherpa people, your culture is much the same as the Tibetans.

I am non Tibetan with Tibetan influnce. I like all the Yarki festival song. I would like to know what Yarkyi mean in Tibetian.
