For a century and a half, Canada's Senate has been unelected and unaccountable. Unelected members can sit in the Senate for up to 45 years.

It's time to make Senators accountable to Canadians.

But the Senate is stacked with a big Liberal majority. They don't want change. They like things just as they are. They say they're entitled to their jobs.

That's why Senate Liberals are delaying passage of S-4, the Conservative Government's bill to cap Senate terms at eight years.

Will the Senate ever change? Will Stéphane Dion ever be a leader?

  • The Government is not supposed to run surplus. This means we are overtaxed. The Liberals were just using the surplus to look like heroes and then buy our votes using our own money to win elections. It's normal for government to run small deficit and small surpluses from month to month as long as it is balanced in the end.

The liberal surpluses were created from the GST and were supposed to be used to reduce the national debt, not hold our money hostage and buy our votes with it.

    GO HARPER!

  • Exactly, but I would add that there is nothing wrong with thin surpluses. I would also add that we are STILL being overtaxes, surplus or not, because of the massive inefficiencies and stupid Liberal programs that accomplish nothing but give jobs to their friends.

  • Or they could make a commercial about how, back when the Liberals were in power, we were running a 10 billion surplus, and now that Harper is in, we have a defecit.

Took him all of two years.

    GO GRITS GO.

  • Harper hasn't run a single defecit. In the words of Stephane Dion "you don't know what you speak about"

The 10 billion surpluses the Grits had were due to over-taxation. Because of Harper we're each saving $400 in taxes per year out of that disguisting $10 billion figure.

He's also paid down some $30 billion against the Liberal Party of Canada's national debt that now stands up around $350 billion.

We can't afford Stephane Dion and his carbon tax.

  • he looks like a kid at my school

  • LOL what a hero Mr Dion is. Let's see if he still thinks he is so great after we destroy the Liberals October 14

  • well i can't vote...yet but if i could i'd rather vote for stephan harper

  • I admit that Harper's plan for the environment needs some help , but so does Stephan's . nobody says how they are going to help the environment , they just boast on how "well it's going to work" . all I know is that if the carbon tax is put into effect gas prices are going to go up again. And it's going to put more small companies out of business due to the increased cost of transport. And the price of living will rise some more.

  • I think Dion was trying to say he was a Gyros. A greek style meat in a pita.

    That makes better sense.

  • You have to understand that liberals have a plan. This plan started with the rip off called Kyoto where Canada is suppose to Lower is gas emissions based on an unreachable agenda while India, china and brazil can keep on polluting! plus with the carbon tax the companies are simply going to shut down in canada then move to one of those countries where they can do wtv they want with no regulation and canadian are going to loose well payed jobs again and pollution will keep on going up!

  • I cannot get over the ego of Dion. I can't believe he call himself, "the most influential leader of the opposition in a generation."

Dion is so weak. I think Dion should stop taking ego boosting anti-depressants.

  • I agree with you dude! Can you imagine the overhead involved with managing the green shaft tax. Those will be 6 figure jobs only going to liberal elite friends. The way liberals work is the communist way. Only liberal friends and those they consider elite get the jobs on the back of the tax payers.

I can't wait for Mr. Harper to clean house and get rid of useless programs which is basically a high paying welfare check for useless jobs. I'm sure the overhead at the CBC are in panic mode now.
